When a Selfridges visit leads to Primark heaven

Image
Selfridges in London is my favourite department store. It's located on the famous Oxford street and has everything under one roof but my recent discovery is one not to miss! Selfridges is home to all the top designer brands and also has an affordable fast fashion department on the ground floor. Topshop, Miss Selfridge and H&M Can all be found but my new found love is the Primark section where all the garments are neatly presented and also boasts a limited edition range. I managed to snap up this gorgeous statement necklace for just £8 and a cute evening bag for £12. Both items were from the "limited edition" range and couldn't believe I had 2 items for £20! Although the quality of the bag is not fantastic it certainly doesn't look like it cost £12. It has an ethnic pattern , a gold coloured clasp and gold chain that adjusts to 2 sizes. This particular bag is fairly small in size but perfect for a night out or a special occassion. The necklace when

Real Techniques - Bold Metals Collection - do you dare to strike bold?

One of my New Years resolutions this year was to take more care and attention of the products I use on my face. Knowing that I'm not getting younger and my mum often reminds me I should be gentle with my face  and skin, I decided to finally splash out on a proper set of brushes and came across Real Techniques. I researched into where I could buy some and was pleasantly surprised to see a set I could buy from Boots UK, from that moment onwards I literally couldn't wait to purchase them. After visiting several Boots I soon realised this particular set of brushes were not easily accessible and only the larger Boots stores stocked them, I found mine in The Oxford Street branch in London but You can also buy them separately online -if you hurry they are currently on offer! (Each sold separately) The set I purchased was beautifully packaged and I adore the idividual colour of each brush - Gold for the 100 Arched Powder Brush, Rose Gold for the 300 Tapered Blush and silver for

Something Paisley for the weekend

Last weekend I decided to hit the shops to look for an outfit for a close friends birthday party. Walking around the shopping centre I remembered I hate shopping in January because of all the unwanted sale items still looming on the shop rails and therefore left empty handed. Mid week I decided to have a sneaky peak at Boohoo.com. I already had in mind I wanted a Paisley shirt dress that I could wear with my new Chanel boots.  I came across the "Debbie Paisley Border print shirt dress". Although I tend to steer away from colours I really liked the print/ variation in this particular dress. I choose the black option but it also has elements of navy, cream and burgundy. By having a variety of colours it would enable me to mix and match it with other items I currently have in my wardrobe. When I tried it on I wasn't 100% sure the style would suit a Saturday night out. The length of the dress was longer than I anticipated and reached my knees.  To me it didn't qu

It's all about the shoes - Dorothy (The wizard of Oz)

A couple of months back I purchased a gorgeous pair of Red Ghille lace up pointed flats from River Island. The colour immediately drew me to try them on and once they were on I suddenly felt the "must have" feeling. The shoes are of course my favourite colour Red and a million outfits sprung to mind that I could make these my statement piece. They look so fierce and bold and only £28!  Feeling like Dorothy  The first day I wore them I immediately wanted to Instagram them and so I did with the caption "Feeling like Dorothy". Looking down seeing the red shoes I felt I could click my heels and anything was possible.  I'm going to be honest when I tried them on for the first time I wasnt entirely convinced these would be the comfiest of shoes but once I had worn them for several hours I was pleasantly surprised. Just make sure you do not tie them up too tight. Lace up flats are currently on trend and a lot of high street shops ar

Birthday Girl - Boohoo style

A week after New Years Eve isn't the greatest time to start celebrating your birthday. The days are cold and the nights are dark.. This year I really fancied staying in, who wouldn't want to be curled up on a sofa with a takeaway? My last minute Birthday outfit  After much persuasion on Saturday morning my husband took charge and booked a table at "Rum and Sugar". Then it dawned on me.. I hadn't planned any outfits for the occasion. Scanning through my mind I remembered a few weeks back I had ordered a - Simone off the shoulder bodysuit from Boohoo.com. The bodysuit was only £12 and I opted for black as its one of my favourite colours and can be mixed and matched with everything. It is made 95% viscose and 5% Elastane creating a very slinky feel. At first I wasn't too sure but once I had it on I felt it was very complimentary for my figure. I have previously bought "off the shoulder" tops and i I find they tend to ride up. With this p

Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance - Coco Chanel

Chanel boots  Waking up on Christmas morning I didn't expect to be the proud owner of Chanel boots.  Although my husband is frequently reminded of my obsession/ love/ need for Chanel I couldn't believe my eyes, I almost felt like it was all a dream. When I unravelled the beautiful packaging and ribbons there they were! Gorgeous Chanel boots. Apart from sunglasses, make up and perfume this is my first real piece of Chanel fashion. Designers like Chanel tend to come up small, even though I vary between size 4 (37) and 5 (38) in these boots I am a size 5. The boots are made from extremely soft velvety leather. Bang on trend with their chunky heel and above the ankle I couldn't wait to wear them. Chanel boots detail  The boots are classic with their understated signature cc in gold on the outer sides and have a zip for ease on the inner side. I have only worn them once but already I know they will be comfortable to wear on nights out. I look f
