The Tweed Jacket Style Edit

Image
This year I have already posted about my Chanel shoe dupes and now I'm stepping up my game with the one jacket that is so incredibly iconic and a true classic - The Tweed Jacket. The jacket was inspired by her love the Duke of Westminster, where he would wear a tweed jacket she took the style (originally just for men) and transformed the idea of a tweed jacket so that women can also wear it. I would love to personally thank her! Now a real Chanel tweed jacket is so desirable and I would LOVE to own one but for now I will definitely settle for a dupe. Again I have found that Zara are great for this!! They have released several this year so far, a navy one with gold buttons, a red and navy one and this creamy coloured one. I really wanted a cream coloured one (this looks cream but is a mix of pastel colours when close up) and this one has beautiful buttons and the classic frayed edges.   I think tweed style jackets look great as a smart casual look. The first t...

My lust for leggings - River Island

Image
Those that follow me on Instagram/ Twitter will know I have recently had a little baby girl... therefore Im still carrying baby weight! I'm still buying all things comfy right now.. and after celebrating 3 family birthdays in January (including my own) and consuming copious amounts of cake I can't even begin to dream of wearing jeans.. so on the hunt I went this week for a pair of new leggings... I bought two pairs from different shops and they were either way too tight and thin or just saggy and thin! I was going to give up hope when I came across these beauties from River Island. They are thicker than your regular leggings and they have gold details.. I just love gold. The gold details are the holes for the lace up bottoms..so you've guessed it, they have another one of my favourite features - bows!! Of course this style of legging comes with a higher price tag of £25 BUT they are so worth it! why? Because they almost act like a pair of your favourite je...

Silver ankle ribbon ballet flats By River Island

Image
FINALLY I am soooo happy! Why? Erm because I own these  Beauts! Let me explain myself ... Last summer I was in Milan and I fell head over heels in love with the Miu Miu version BUT they had sold out in my size and only had white satin available which is not suitable for London. I left Milan pretty disappointed but with a purse full of Euros ( handy for the next trip) Anyway .... Look what I found in River Island - the best Miu Miu dupe going and I LOVE them!! The ballet trend is set to still be big this year and Miu Miu are still releasing more ballet style pumps so these are the next best thing.   These shoes are full of detail. Predominantly silver, with black bows, gold stud detail AND the famous gingham lace. Gingham is also set to be huge this year so they are perfect to mix and match with your outfits or team with a gingham shirt. Reasons why these are the must have shoes right now? 1. Miu Miu dupe alert! The next best thing! 2. Excellent va...

My favourite chokers revealed part 4 - River Island chain detail

Image
Just when I thought I couldn't possibly invest in anymore chokers ..I happened to stumble into River Island and instantly fall in love with this choker. Most of my chokers are black with silver details, I have a couple with gold details but this choker is so different from the others, more gold, more delicate and more detail...I just had to get it. On Saturday night I had a birthday party to go to and decided to recycle one of my fave River Island pleather skirts from last year and a black tee - I completly revamped my look with this one choker.. It's amazing how small details can really make a big difference.   I love this choker because..... 1. More details than my other chokers - it has a small gold coin and chain detail that also looks quite ethnic. I am a huge fan of all things Middle Eastern/ ethnic... It might just be because I'm half Persian. But the small gold 2. Black and gold - my two favourite colours. Gold can look very warming in Autumn and winte...

Up style your wardrobe with River Island brooches

Image
A new season is upon us... I can't believe it's Autumn already but with this in mind - a new season calls for a new style. I can't sit still I absolutely love being inspired and equally inspiring others! I am constantly on Instagram and Twitter and I love sharing my looks and seeing what the designers are doing and then setting about creating the look for less. My new work look has been adding a big silk bow to a crisp white shirt... Pussy bows are back and you can immediately get the look by visiting your local habidashery. I loved the look so much but I still wanted a little more attention to detail.. I saw a picture on Gucci's Instagram AND it immediately inspired me. Although the picture was a male model I knew I could create the same style with a feminine touch...now all i needed were some brooches.   I had this look in my mind but I really didn't know where to find the right brooches... Until I visited one of my favourite shops .. River I...

Limited edition patterned River Island backless loafers

Image
I always find shoes are a great investment - they can immediately transform a look the minute you slip them on, so when I set out to buy new shoes they need to tick a few boxes and I ask myself the following.... - Do they make a statement? - Will they mix and match well with my current wardrobe? - Are they comfy? - Will I get sufficient use of them? My recent purchase answered yes to all mentioned above and there's extra brownie points with these shoes.   Following the trends from the designer houses River Island have launched a beautiful range of backless loafers inspired by Gucci. I remember when I was around 13 years old and backless loafers were all the rage then and I loved them, so when I saw the return of the backless loafer you could say I was quite excited. It reminded me of when I was backless loafer obsessed I had them in lilac, baby blue, black and white... Yes a pair for every outfit! This time round however I'm just dedicating myself to one pair an...

This River Island Crochet bikini is too hot to miss out on!

Image
This year has seen the rise of the swimsuit and it seems like bikinis have met their match and stepped up their game. Swimwear is bigger and hotter than ever and what you wear by the pool side or on the beach is becoming more and more fashionable and there are so many styles to choose from.        I am a super fan of all things swimwear, I have mentioned in a recent post that I love to have several bikinis for a holiday. I usually tend to buy bandeau bikini tops but this year I really fancied something crochet and different. Long before the summer months I spotted this gorgeous black crochet bikini top from River Island, admittedly I didn't buy it straight away but I knew I had to return when I kept thinking about it. I couldn't get back to the Oxford street branch so instead I managed to order it to my nearest store. There are a few reasons I reccommed and adore this bikini top; 1. The detail of the crochet at the front is very eye catching, the patter...

Monochrome in Milan - my third night in my favourite fashion city

Image
I am the biggest monochrome lover going, I seriously love the contrast of the two colours together and in every trip I take , you will always see a monochrome outfit is packed. This year has been heavily about cropped tops and high waisted trousers and I am a big fan of this look. I have recently felt a little insecure about my body shape and outfits like these have made me feel a lot better. Going to a city I am not familiar with I didn't fancy wearing small dresses or even clothes that were too tight because of the humidity that's why for the evenings I had packed two pairs of high waisted trousers.  The White trousers are from Zara (one of my favourite places to shop) they are cropped, high waisted with a white belt attached that can be tied in a bow. I tie the bow on the side as I felt it was quite a lot of material to go into the middle. They have a rouched hem round the waist and feel quite loose until you tie the belt. The bottom of the trousers are not cig...

Hot Pink skirt alert - spur of the moment River Island Purchase

Image
I love dressing up for a night out but even more so when I buy a spur of the moment item and mentally create an outfit in my head. I love heading home asking myself ..will it look like the image I have created in my mind!? Luckily on Saturday night it all worked out! I purchased this stunning skirt from River Island during the day and was captured buy it's hot pink colour. I don't usually wear colours but for some reason I really fancied this and loved the style too. It's a slip on skirt which looks like a wrap skirt, however it quite an illusion as there is a zip at the back. The skirt parts in the middle at the front and hangs longer at the back. (Heels are best suited with this skirt as it elongates your legs) Underneath there is another layer (slip) connected to each side seam which felt slightly tighter than the skirt itself. Rather than buy this in my usual size 8 I decided to go for a size 10. The size 8 was figure hugging but I knew that there would be an is...

Love is " Lori Skinny High Rise " River Island Jeans

Image
Do you constantly find yourself living in jeans? I do! No matter how hard I try to stear away from jeans every weekend I find myself living in them. As I can't kick my love for jeans I have decided on a better solution.. Just buy jeans that I really really love. Lucky for me I have found "the one". I don't tend to buy jeans often so I need to be sure the pair I buy are going to contribute something different to my wardrobe.  Introducing my new Lori Skinny - High Rise jeans from River Island.  I normally buy mid rise jeans but recently I have been feeling a bit more self conscious of my body shape and I have found these have actually really helped me. I love the fact they are high rise and they are still skinny.   The jeans have a "distressed look" that can be worn from day to night, they have faded colour which I absolutely adore. Personally I am not too keen on dark jeans unless they are black.  I love the fit of River Island Jeans - I ten...

Spring essential edition - River Island Pink Lightweight Trench coat

Image
Spring has sprung and what better way than to start treating yourself to a few new key essentials for this season? I tend to purchase my key items before the season is in full swing and the minute I bought my River Island lightweight Trench Coat it helped me to decide my colour palette for my spring/ summer collection. I absolutely adore blush pink and mixing it with other earth colours, I find these particular shades look soft, natural and delicate. I like to mix and match it with a spot of lace to give that added girly touch.     The reason I chose this particular coat was because it's extremely soft texture. It's 100% Tencel and is machine washable which can be very handy (Being a light colour you never know how often you may need to clean it!) it's a great 3/4 length style means it can still keep you warm on those crisp spring days a head. With the texture being so soft it's not too structured and has that "I've just thrown it on" look. This i...

It's all about the shoes - Dorothy (The wizard of Oz)

Image
A couple of months back I purchased a gorgeous pair of Red Ghille lace up pointed flats from River Island. The colour immediately drew me to try them on and once they were on I suddenly felt the "must have" feeling. The shoes are of course my favourite colour Red and a million outfits sprung to mind that I could make these my statement piece. They look so fierce and bold and only £28!  Feeling like Dorothy  The first day I wore them I immediately wanted to Instagram them and so I did with the caption "Feeling like Dorothy". Looking down seeing the red shoes I felt I could click my heels and anything was possible.  I'm going to be honest when I tried them on for the first time I wasnt entirely convinced these would be the comfiest of shoes but once I had worn them for several hours I was pleasantly surprised. Just make sure you do not tie them up too tight. Lace up flats are currently on trend and a lot of high street shops ar...

Birthday Girl - Boohoo style

Image
A week after New Years Eve isn't the greatest time to start celebrating your birthday. The days are cold and the nights are dark.. This year I really fancied staying in, who wouldn't want to be curled up on a sofa with a takeaway? My last minute Birthday outfit  After much persuasion on Saturday morning my husband took charge and booked a table at "Rum and Sugar". Then it dawned on me.. I hadn't planned any outfits for the occasion. Scanning through my mind I remembered a few weeks back I had ordered a - Simone off the shoulder bodysuit from Boohoo.com. The bodysuit was only £12 and I opted for black as its one of my favourite colours and can be mixed and matched with everything. It is made 95% viscose and 5% Elastane creating a very slinky feel. At first I wasn't too sure but once I had it on I felt it was very complimentary for my figure. I have previously bought "off the shoulder" tops and i I find they tend to ride up. With this p...
