The Jumper Dress Autumn Edit

Image
Its Officially the last weekend of Summer with the clocks going back and last week I heard that the temperature was going to drop - Finally! (Since being pregnant I have felt so hot and have been longing for cooler days and they are finally here) In anticipation of the cooler weather I purchased two oversized jumper dresses and have patiently waited to wear them and all of a sudden I had a Jumper dress themed weekend so decided to write about both rather than create two blog posts. Saturdays Style  This jumper is from H&M and was purchased for under £30. Its Charcoal colour and is available in other colours but I find darker colours are much easier to mix and match and style. The is one of my favourite maternity styles without being "maternity wear". Its just a regular oversized jumper and I have bought it 2 sizes bigger than what I would usually wear. The arms are baggy and it has a loose rolled neck, its super comfy and also not too thick. Items like ...

THE embroidered velvet Zara dress

Image
Im so glad summer is over. I have several reasons why and Im contemplating writing about it all but for now its too raw. Instead I said to myself to forget the summer, forget the fact I haven't been able to blog for a few months and instead look forward to the future..with the future being autumn my favourite season and the fact I'm pregnant. For me this means a new wardrobe, blacks, Burgundy, velvet... you name it I want it. yes I'm obsessive like that. So much so in August I purchased my first autumn dress.. AND its still available. It could only be from one place..ZARA!! I am absolutely loving smock dresses, embroidery is still going strong and throw on some tassels and you have a winning formula. Its navy in colour with the most gorgeous floral embroidery in oranges and pinks - it definately has that 70s vibe. The first time I wore it (so far only time) I paired it with my tanned cowboy boots.. this dress definitely works well with boots as it is on ...

Zip up Bodycon dress from Zara

Image
A few months ago I was invited to an awards night.. I have attended the last two years and so glad I was invited for the third year. Then came the panic mode of "What to wear". I knew what colour dress I was required to wear which actually really helps and narrows it down.. its just finding THE dress. I knew I had some statement shoes I purchased from Zara last year that I was dying to wear again so atlas that was sorted. My go to place for most things is Zara - I just love it there and shock horror this is wear my dress is from! I picked it up in the shop, walked around looking for other items and a lady stopped and asked me where I got the dress from.. therefore I knew it had to be special..maybe it was a sign. The dress is a bodycon style, it has a thicker than usual fabric which helps to pull you in slightly and is also extremely expandable. Its black, Has frill details around the strap and the top of the dress and is finished off with a gorgeous gold zip...

Spliced D Ring Midaxi Dress from Topshop

Presenting to you the statement dress of this summer!!! I am currently ditching my jeans in favour of more dresses and floaty skirts. Why? I don't see myself as being that girly and I have spent so many years wearing jeans and a top and yes its finally got the better of me and I can't do it any longer. I NEED pretty dresses and skirts - life is short and I want to mix things up. Anyway enough of me and more about this dress. The minute I saw it I loved it. Heres why - 1. The dress is a mixture of two prints - whats not to love about that? 2. It has a split at the front which makes walking easy, the dress flows and it isn't all one length either. 3. Ruffle details - eeeeeeeek - Love it. 4. Back detail of criss cross lace up - it adds the final touch. I find the dress is flirty and fun and I can't wear it to the max. Dresses like these I love to wear biker boots/ studded boots or anything heavy to contrast the pretty and delicate theme. The fi...

Mesh dress with a body by H&M - Coachella

Image
I have to put it out there, that recently I am loving H&M... I go though phases and literally at the moment I can't get enough. Everytime I walk in, I always find something I like, love, need, want and this recent find it a bargain and a massive game changer. It's such a simple concept, one of which I will be creativity serval looks with. I love items like this as I feel I really get my money's worth. So this is a bodysuit connected to a mesh/ pretty lace overlay. Sounds simple right? Well it is.... So the choice of bottoms are up to you...... I had this outfit planned for a night in Essex and originally I was going to wear a mini skirt underneath but I didn't feel it was quite right. Instead I opted for leggings as they seemed a little more glam fashionista which was the look I was actually going for. I have to say I really loved wearing it as it can be something quite dressy and yet you can really dress it down. I loved the way the leggings gave...

Mesh dress with frills from H&M

Image
At the moment the hottest trend is adding tulle or mesh/ sheer fabrics to your look which I think is absolutely brilliant!! It adds a feminine touch with a splas of sass... To be honest this trend for me could be like the choker trend... I can't stop buying it. So this dress I bought from H&M I decided to wear for a day out/ my nephews first birthday. When I saw it in H&M it wasn't clearly displayed, in fact I can't find it on the website so it could be one that nearly slipped under the radar but being that my radar is so large :) nothing gets away if it's meant to be! (You can find this in the Divided range) So how do wear these dresses? The best way is YOUR way... Get creative and the options are endless. I decided to give mine a touch of the 80s vibe teaming it with my studded boots, all black underneath and oversized denim jacket with curly hair.   It's a delicate dress with frills at the front and puffed sleeves which could be why I...

Rose wrap over dress from H&M

Image
This weekend was my birthday and like every girl on their birthday - you want something new to wear (any excuse!) However I was in a predicament - it was a surprise where I was going and I didn't know how to dress. Of course being Christmas and new year I had left it late to purchase an outfit. I raced to Westfield on Friday night and looked for 2 hours and left empty handed! I'm not keen on sales and everything and everywhere was ALL about sales. until I remembered a dress I had seen in H&M a week back and I think it had stayed on my brain because that was what I wanted all a long. So Saturday morning I went back and bagged the dress.   I literally love it. The rose colour, the velvety feel, the wrap front, not too tight, bow detail and bell sleeves.   For a spontaneous outfit I would have to say this was the best and I'm so glad I went for a dress as the surprise turned out to be a surprise unicorn birthday party for meeee :) Reasons...

The "Lula dress" from Chi Chi London

Image
Eeeeeek Party season is upon us and its time to get glam ready! I have been extremely lucky to receive such a gorgeous dress from the beautiful Chi Chi London. I have previously blogged about a stunning bridesmaid dress I wore in October and here I am blogging about another stunning dress. This time the occasion was different... It was time to dress up and party and I felt quite the party princess. This dress is full of stunning features from the beautiful delicate lace front and back, the navy silky feel, full of pleats and the netting underneath to give it a gorgeous shape. It goes in at the waist and flares out just like a princess! It has a side zip which helps you get into the dress and keeps the dress fitted. I am a UK size 8/10 and the 8 fitted me well.   The dress is so pretty, looks delicate and is quite a statement. This time I wore gold heels and a berry shade lipstick - I think navy and shades of berry really work well together and it was great co...

My Dolce and Gabbana inspired H&M dress

Image
When I left Milan I left inspired. The one place I was truly impressed with was Dolce and Gabanna and their bold prints. Every collection they had told a story and I was transformed into their fantasy world looking around their stores. When I arrived back home the idea of wearing prints of flowers was embedded in my mind and I had to find something to quench my thirst for this look. I tend to steer away from prints but sometimes I love to go off track. The day before my trip I suddenly felt unprepared and made a quick dash to H&M. I call this my "last cry for help" whenever I impulse buy Dr a holiday. We all know the truth - we have enough clothes already but you have that need to pack a little more than needed and buy last minute clothes just in case".   Presenting to you my "Dolce and Gabbana" inspired dress. It's bold floral pattern mixed with stripes in a variation of colour really make this dress stand out from the rest. It has a gorgeo...

Something Paisley for the weekend

Image
Last weekend I decided to hit the shops to look for an outfit for a close friends birthday party. Walking around the shopping centre I remembered I hate shopping in January because of all the unwanted sale items still looming on the shop rails and therefore left empty handed. Mid week I decided to have a sneaky peak at Boohoo.com. I already had in mind I wanted a Paisley shirt dress that I could wear with my new Chanel boots.  I came across the "Debbie Paisley Border print shirt dress". Although I tend to steer away from colours I really liked the print/ variation in this particular dress. I choose the black option but it also has elements of navy, cream and burgundy. By having a variety of colours it would enable me to mix and match it with other items I currently have in my wardrobe. When I tried it on I wasn't 100% sure the style would suit a Saturday night out. The length of the dress was longer than I anticipated and reached my knees.  To me it didn't qu...
